Lynne was selected to participate in the 2023 SC State Park, Artist in Residence Program at Barnwell State Park. We enjoyed spending three nights in the park, fishing and kayaking in the pond(s) with our grandchildren. Lynne captured a sunset near the historic CCC spillway and the Artisian Well on the property. Thanks to Ranger Ashley and the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

Fun was had on the water. Grandchildren enjoyed kayaking in the Fox Trot. Hayes learned about casting his spinning reel and caught his first fish. Caroline wanted nothing to do with worms or crickets. We all enjoyed some down time, relaxing at the cabin.

Near the State Park is another treasure, God’s Acre Healing Springs. We witnessed many people driving in and filling their jugs with spring water. It was obvious that Locals and Out-of-Towners believe strongly in the healing power of the spring water. As a local lady explained to a visitor at the spring, “let that healing spring water wash over you” and the visitor literally bathed in the spring. Quite a sight! We ate a delightful lunch at the Healing Springs Country Store.
