Custom Sizes - Beautiful Satin Prints for Home or Office
Fresh off the studio work table - two custom pieces - beautiful Winter Sunrise on Lake Moultrie. The piece above is 56” wide and 38” tall and it makes a grand statement! Trotter Arts is happy to work on custom sized pieces for a particular spot in your home or office. We absolutely love working with our customers to achieve their decorating vision!
All Trotter Arts prints are photographs printed on satin fabric. The printing process is dye-sublimation and it yields beautiful color fast results. The color is embedded into the fabric so the image will not fade or crack. After experimenting with fabrics, satin was chosen because it finishes with a light sheen, crisp and bright color with low glare. It is very similar to art printed on metal with a softer finish. Satin sounds like a delicate material yet we have found it to be worry free and beautiful! We’ve been printing on satin for 7 years now! Wow, time has flown by - doing what we enjoy!
This custom piece measures 50” wide by 27” tall and it also is a sunrise photograph over Lake Moultrie. We loved the “winter blues” in this piece. It is always amazing how just a few minutes at sunrise makes a drastic difference in colors. Photographer’s at sunrise know that the lighting changes fast and you have to be quick to catch that great shot!

Unique Vintage Windows - Filled with Satin Prints
Creativity is flowing in the studio! Four panel vintage windows filled with four themed satin prints! This one is the Lighthouses of SC (20” wide x 28” tall). Can you name them? Top Left is of course Harbour Town at Hilton Head, top right is Cape Romain near McClellanville, the bottom left is Hunting Island and the bottom right is Morris Island. Of these four, only Hunting Island is an actual functioning navigational beacon.
The NC Lighthouses are top left is Cape Hatteras , top right is Cape Fear, bottom Left is Currituck Beach and the bottom right is Bodie Island. All of these are on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and all are functioning navigational beacons. The lighthouses of NC measures 24” wide x 27” tall. Unique, one of a kind art piece! Ok, now for the trivia question; one of these NC lighthouses is the tallest in America……. Which one? Answer at the bottom of the post.
This unique vintage window frame contains four of the classic downtown Charleston SC window boxes. The frame measure 24” wide x 27” tall. All pictures are printed on satin fabric and framed without glass.

Fun Facts: Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is the tallest brick lighthouse in America. 257 steps to the top, equal to climbing a 12-story building, architectural height is 187 feet, first lit in 1803.
New Triptych Releases - Marsh Sunset at Hunting Island State Park and Tomotley Plantation Avenue of Oaks
One of our favorite field trips is Hunting Island State Park. There are many reasons that its a favorite such as, the only functional lighthouse in South Carolina, access to St. Phillips Island and sunrise beach photography just to name a few. But, a visit to the marsh boardwalk is always worthwhile. We revisited the boardwalk last Fall, with the idea of capturing a sunset for a triptych print.
Not far from Hunting Island is the Tomotley Plantation. The plantation dates back to the late 1600’s. It is believed that the Live Oaks were planted in 1820 by Patience Wise Blackett Izard who inherited the plantation from her father Ralph Izard. We are certainly glad that she had the patience and wisdom to plant and create this beautiful avenue of oaks!
The first printing of these new pieces is completed. Sunset at the Boardwalk and the Tomotley Plantation Triptychs are now available in the store! Standard sizes for our triptychs are: Large 37”x 60” , Medium 32” x 48”, Small 25” x 42”. We print our photographs on satin fabric using a dye-sublimation process. The process yields beautiful, permanent colors that are embedded in the satin. These images will not fade or crack and the finish is a light sheen. Our prints are gallery wrapped and ready to hang in home or office.
