Announcing 2023 Favorites

As we close out our 2023 shows, we always reflect on the past year and announce the annual favorites. So here you go ……

In the 24” x 24” size, two wildlife shots were selected a 2023 Favorite. A little backstory, the owl was taken in our backyard (sometimes you just get lucky) and the White Heron was taken at Magnolia Gardens (hours of patience) where we love to visit when the rookery gets active. This is the 2nd consecutive year for Preening to be a favorite.

The 2023 favorite triptych is The Road to Wormsloe. We began producing XLarge triptychs which are 50” x 96”. We were pleasantly surprised how much interest there is in the XLarge size. As it turned out, The Road to Wormsloe was our best seller in the XLarge and the Large sizes (even outselling Angel Oak!). Wormsloe Plantation is in Savannah, and it is the longest avenue of live oaks in the Southeast. It makes a grand statement piece of art. This is the second consecutive year for this one to be the favorite triptych.

In our portrait category a shot from Lake Moultrie is our 2023 favorite. The name of the piece is Lake Moultrie Pair and it was taken using a long exposure technique. Some of our customers said they really liked the peaceful serenity and calming spirit around this piece. We offer this in two sizes 26” x 40” and 32” x 50” and it looks great with our walnut stained cedar frame.

Every year, we try to listen to the voice of our customers and we heard requests for large one-piece landscapes. We decided on 60” wide and 37” or 30” tall as our show standard. We took a couple of productive field trips to the low country and reviewed some previous shots for possible printing. We were pleased that the 60” landscapes were very popular at our shows. Low Country Life 37”x 60” and Morning at Botany Bay 30” x 60” rose to the top as two of our 2023 Favorites.

A word of thanks to all our customers who made 2023 so successful. Ya’ll are the best! It’s always fun to look back briefly, before we press forward. We are currently applying for 2024 shows and printing for the 2024 season. Also, working on updating our web site, adding items and inventory. The store is organized a little differently and we’re wrestling with shipping costs on the 60” pieces (oversized). We hope that you will visit the store and we welcome your feedback!

If we can help you with your home or office decorating, please give us a call as we would love to work with you! Our next show will be in Columbia - The Vintage Market Days of the Midlands on February 2nd - 4th at the SC State Fairgrounds.
